Tono Monogatari Umeshu
An authentic honkaku umeshu made with 100% Nanko plums from Iwate Prefecture. Nanko is the plum variety umeshu is supposed to be made from — large, fleshy and high in acidity, which is what gives a plum liqueur its backbone.
The aroma is fresh and unmistakably plum, and the finish is gently sweet rather than syrupy. The body is light and clean, which makes it far easier to drink across a whole evening than a heavier umeshu.
